Family sets up dedicated FB page to find Nayati
KUALA LUMPUR: A dedicated Facebook page (pic) has been set up to find 12-year-old Nayati Shamelin Moodliar, who is still missing after being abducted early Friday morning.
The page (www.facebook.com/PleaseHelp UsToFindNayatiMoodliar) was set up by Nayati's family and friends in the hope that it would help bring much needed information on his whereabouts. The Facebook page also has a link to a @Nayati2012 Twitter account.
Multi-lingual posters and flyers of Nayati were also distributed yesterday to help locate the boy.
Nayati, who is Dutch, was walking to his Mont' Kiara International School (MKIS) near his home when he was seized by two men in a black car at 7.35am.
News of Nayati's disappearance has also been picked up by the international media including in Britain, South Africa and the Netherlands.
His parents, Sham and Janice, who were originally from South Africa are also Dutch citizens. Nayati is of Indian and Caucasian parentage.
The social media has also been abuzz over Nayati's disappearance. Several Twitter hashtags were actively trending yesterday including #FindNayatiMoodliar; #prayfornayati and #Nayati.
His school friends have also continued to post pleas over YouTube.
One of his older schoolmates said: “He is just a little kid. It is heartbreaking. He does not deserve this. Help bring him back.”
Telcos also joined in efforts to locate the boy by sending out SMSes providing contact details.
Nayati's distraught parents have appealed for the safe return of their only son and have assured that they would not take action against his abductors.
“Please return our son. We do not want any trouble. It is not too late to let him go. We won't press charges. Please give us our son back,” Sham said in his heart-wrenching plea.
The boy's abduction has also caught the attention of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who instructed Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar to look into the case.
The Royal Malaysian Police Force posted an alert on its Facebook page yesterday and urged people to contact the Travers police station at 03-22824222 or ASP Erwansyah at 019-3849480. Those with information on Nayati's whereabouts can also call 013-681 6085.
