A 21-year-old woman, fearing she was being abducted by a cab driver, jumped out of the moving vehicle in Seremban on Monday.
The girl was travelling to Mantin with her mother and sister and had boarded the taxi in Jalan Bandar Tunggal, Tamil Nesan reported.
However, a short distance away, the mother asked the taxi driver to stop outside a grocery store where she and her other daughter wanted to buy some provisions.
As soon as the two passengers got down, the driver accelerated towards Jalan Temiang.
Frightened at being left alone in the taxi, the woman opened the door and jumped out.
Passers-by rushed her to the hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.
> The MCA has obtained RM40mil from the Government for the Indian community since Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek took over the helm of the party, Tamil Nesan reported.
“I am assisting the Indians because they supported MCA candidates in the previous general elections. It is our way of saying thank you,” the paper quoted the party president as saying.
Dr Chua reportedly approached Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak for the allocation.
