Swift action saves school

KOTA KINABALU: Swift response from firemen saved a top school here from being burnt down.

The fire started on the fourth floor auditorium of Kian Kok Middle School’s information technology building at 10.20am yesterday, sending students and staff scampering.

Its principal Lim Chian said firefighters arrived in 10 minutes.

The blaze was brought under control, with the ceiling of the auditorium, together with its carpet and plastic chairs, damaged.

No one was hurt, Lim said.
