Drugs worth RM658,000 seized

SEPANG: Customs officers who raided a condominium found containers with aluminium foil wrappings stored inside microwave ovens – only the foils were not to preserve food but keep drugs.

The officers had been monitoring the condominium unit in Kuala Lumpur for 72 hours before moving in on Monday.

The 15.72kg of drugs, valued at RM658,000, included syabu, marijuana and ketamine.

KLIA Customs director Badaruddin Mohamed Rafik said yesterday a public tip-off led to the raid.

A 29-year-old suspect from New Zealand was detained.

The suspect has been remanded for seven days pending investigations.
