Two police officers among three killed in crash
KOTA BARU: Three people, including two police officers, were killed in an accident along Jalan Kota Baru-Kuala Krai early yesterday.
In the 1am accident, Kuala Krai deputy OCPD Abdul Wahab Yaacob, 56, his colleague Abd Kadir Kumin, 48, and Membunga Mamat, 60, died at the scene.
State police chief Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman said the accident happened when the trio’s BMW collided with a 4WD vehicle driven by Mohd Saari Asmawi, 36.

The trio were heading towards Kota Baru and Mohd Saari was heading towards Kuala Kerai when the accident happened.
“From our initial investigations, it is believed that both vehicles were travelling at high speed,” Jalaluddin said in a statement.
The body of Abdul Wahab has been sent to Kuala Lumpur for burial while Abdul Kadir’s body will be sent to his family’s home in Ulu Chenka, Jerantut, he added.
