Bullying: Students not spared

By RASHITHA A. HAMID

KUALA LUMPUR: People get bullied almost every other day, especially secondary school students.

In most cases, the perpetrators are seniors who are bigger and taller than their victims.

CID Director Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Bakri Mohd Zibnin said that most of the time, students gang up and bully their classmates or schoolmates who are weaker.

“Studies have shown that bullies are usually those who feel bored in school. These students think by doing so they are in ‘power’ or in authority when they bully someone,” he said.

It has been documented that some bullies were either victims of bullies before or have family problems.
