BALIK PULAU: A Form Six student has been arrested for allegedly pimping two Vietnamese women at a hotel in Bayan Lepas here.
It is learnt that the two women, in their 20s, were waiting for their clients in a hotel room with the 18-year-old boy when the police surprised them by showing up at the door.
Police also rescued two teenage sisters in another hotel room, who are believed to be victims of a human trafficking ring for sexual exploitation, during the four-hour operation which lasted until 3am yesterday.
Besides the two Vietnamese women, a Myanmar woman, aged 35, and another man, aged 26, who are believed to be acting as middlemen for the illicit activities, were also arrested.
During interrogation, the Myanmar woman claimed that she was the mother of the two sisters, aged 16 and 17, and that they were in Malaysia for a holiday.
However, police did not believe her story as a used condom was found in the dustbin of the same hotel room.
Authorities seized 15 condoms, a book with jottings of the day's earnings, six handphones, RM1,280 and two passports from the two hotel rooms.
Balik Pulau OCPD Supt Mohd Hatta Mohd Zain said the case was being investigated under Section 14 of the Anti-Human Trafficking Act, adding that findings revealed that the vice activities had been going on for over two months.
“We are also investigating why the student was inside the hotel room during the raid,” he said.
