MIC reaches out to youths via FB

KLUANG: MIC wants to reach out to the youths through the social media such as Facebook.

“Our youth outreach is not very high, so we are looking for new strategies and ways to be closer to the younger generation,” said party president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel.

“We are setting up a social platform through the MIC website to engage more youths within the party as well as those outside,” he said at the 35th Malaysia Hindu Sangam annual general meeting here.

Palanivel declined to reveal the percentage of youths in the party, merely saying that it was “not high enough”.

“The party aims to have more youths and new faces as candidates in the coming general election, so this is our way of preparing for the polls.”
