Train missed due to wrong gate
I HAD a bad experience on my first train ride to Ipoh on June 23. I bought a ticket at KL Sentral and the ticket stated that the train would leave at 8am and arrive in Ipoh at 11am. The ticket also clearly said to board the train at Gate A.
I started to wait at Gate A at 7.20am. At 7.50am, a rail guard entered the barrier. At 8.15am he was still standing there. There was no announcement. My patience finally ran out at 8.40am when Gate A was still not open. When I asked the guard, I was shocked to hear that my train had left at 8am.
The guard said I should be waiting at Gate B. I told him the ticket clearly stated Gate A, and it was not my mistake that I waited at Gate A. I was then told to change the ticket for the next train to Ipoh departing at 9am.
It is unbelievable that such a mistake could happen. It caused me much inconvenience as well as to my friend in Ipoh who was waiting to pick me up.
