A year in jail for domestic helper who molested boy

KUALA LUMPUR: A domestic helper was sentenced to 12 months in jail by a magistrate’s court here after he pleaded guilty to molesting an 11-year-old boy.
Indonesian Aceng Ahmad Siman, 35, admitted using criminal force on the boy in an attempt to outrage his modesty by fondling the victim’s private parts.
The offence occurred between midnight on June 15 and 8am on June 16 at the victim’s residence in a condominium in Sentul here.
He was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code.
According to the statement of the facts, Aceng had been working for the victim’s family at the time.
The boy’s parents discovered the offence on June 19 after one of his brothers told them he had seen Aceng hold the victim’s private parts.
The boy then told his mother that Aceng had touched him several times when he was sleeping.
The victim’s father then made a police report and Aceng was arrested.
When asked if he had anything to say in mitigation, Aceng, who was unrepresented, could only say “Saya memohon maaf (I ask for forgiveness)”.
Magistrate Nur Azura Murah ruled that Aceng’s sentence would begin from the date of his arrest on June 20.
