S’gor govt to host another water forum soon

By A. RUBAN

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor government will host another water forum soon to explain the exact situation of the state's water industry.

Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said invitations would be extended to industry players who were concerned about the matter.

"Many have failed to understand the exact phenomena in the water industry. There are several non-governmental organisations going around scaring the people with a so-called water shortage in Selangor. So, this forum will explain the current situation and alternative ways to tap water," he told a news conference Sunday.

Khalid, then, reiterated his stand that the state water supply, which is currently privatised to several concessionaires, must be returned to the state.
