Teenage siblings die after car crashes into wild boar

IPOH: Two teenage siblings were killed after their car hit a wild boar darting across the road and crashed onto a roadside wall along Jalan Kuala Kangsar-Gerik Thursday.

Gerik police chief Supt Abdul Manaf Baharum said Dzularif Abdullah, 19, who was driving the car, and his sister, Norwahida, 15, died of severe injuries as they were being rushed to a clinic in Lawin, Gerik.

He said the accident happened at about 2am at Km78.7 of the road as Dzularif and Norwahida were returning to their home in Felda Lawin Utara, Gerik, after trading at a stall in Selat Pagar, Lenggong.

“The boar darted across the road, causing Dzularif to lose control of the car. The vehicle hit the animal and crashed onto the roadside wall,” he said when contacted. - Bernama
