MAS to have extra and upgraded flights for Hari Raya
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will have 55 extra and nine upgraded flights between Kuala Lumpur and Medan, and for domestic routes to cater to increased demand during the Aidilfitri festive season.
A statement from MAS Monday said the flights would offer a total of 10,824 seats for booking through all its distribution channels from Aug 16 to 28, 2012.
The extra flights for domestic services are for KL-Kota Kinabalu (vice versa, eight times), KL-Kuching (one), KL-Tawau (five times), KL-Labuan (five times), KL-Sibu (three times), KL-Miri (three times), KL-Bintulu (three times), KL-Kota Baharu (five times), KL-Kuala Terengganu (three times), KL-Alor Setar (four times).
The KL-Medan flights and back are increased to 15 times to accommodate the increase in demand during the Raya festive period.
Three flights will be upgraded for the Kuala Lumpur-Kota Kinabalu route and six flights from Kuala Lumpur-Kuching. The statement said MAS would continue to monitor the booking trend during this festive season and offer additional flights if necessary.
