Boy beaten up by 18 students was 'entrapped to take money'
IPOH: The 16-year-old student who alleged he was beaten up by 18 schoolmates at a hostel in Kampung Gajah on Saturday had taken money meant to entrap him prior to the incident.
Perak Tengah OCPD Supt Mohd Fakri Che Sulaiman said the 18 boys, who accused the student of theft, had set up a trap to catch him after another student had RM100 stolen.
“The group put RM10 on a table in the dormitory.
“They saw the boy take the money and proceed to buy a burger with it,” Supt Mohd Fakri said Tuesday.
He added that the police had taken statements from all 18 students and the boy on Monday.
The case, he said, is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code.
