Three Arab siblings killed in accident to be buried in Langkawi


LANGKAWI: Three Arab tourists who were killed in an accident involving a taxi and a cement-laden lorry in Ayer Hangat here on Saturday will be buried in Langkawi.

Inspector Mohd Fairus Mohd Ghazi who was the Investigating Officer of the accident said Monday that the burial site and the date would be determined after discussions with the family of the deceased.

"The next to kin of the three siblings who arrived from Sudan to claim their bodies at the Langkawi Hospital agreed to the proposal," he told Bernama when contacted here.

The three victims who had arrived in Langkawi on June 25, were Miriam Mohamed Maisara Hameed, 26, Alaa Mohamed Maisara Abdul Hamed, 16 and Mohammad Maysra Abdul Hameed, 18.

During the 4pm incident on Saturday, the three siblings who were visiting Langkawi and the driver of the taxi, Zubir Ibrahim, 42, from Kampung Bohor Merah were killed when the taxi tried to overtake but collided head-on with the lorry. - Bernama
