Woman reunited with hubby after 17 years

FOR almost 17 years, Protima never stopped believing that her missing husband, Subodh Ravidas, would return home even though he was presumed to be dead.

Her faith was rewarded when she was reunited with Ravidas, who was found to be staying in a mental asylum in Amritsar on Monday.

He was admitted in 2007 following his repatriation from Pakistan after spending 12 years in prison there and had lost his memory.

His family was contacted when he regained his memory after years of treatment.

> Malaysia Nanban reported that a 30-year-old woman was brutally murdered by her relative in Vizianagaram in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Police said the incident took place in the Sikh Colony in the town area. The deceased, Lajwant Kaur, was the second wife of Ranjith Singh.

The murderer, Ram Singh, suspected Ranjith Singh's son Pattabhi Singh of practising black magic as his niece had been suffering from fever for the past one and a half months. Ram held Pattabhi responsible and decided to kill him.

He asked Lajwant about Pattabhi's whereabouts. Upon seeing him with a sword in his hands, Lajwant ran for her life but Ram hacked her to death.

He later surrendered to the police.
