Friends of BN in UK give spirited welcome to Olympic torch


LONDON: Friends of Barisan Nasional (FBN) UK gave the Olympic torch a spirited welcome as it passed through Chinatown Monday.

An open-top bus decked out with a banner expressing support for the Malaysian contingent was paraded around London, and eventually departed to the Olympic Village in Stratford.

"The banner highlighted Malaysian representatives, Friends of Barisan Nasional and 1Malaysia's support for the 2012 Olympic Games," said FBN UK in a statementy.

FBN UK Community Engagement vice president Edmund Yeoh, who is also London Chinatown Ambassadors chairman, led an Oath of Performance ceremony which was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of London.
