PM pays courtesy call on visiting Czech Republic President
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak Thursday paid a courtesy call on President of the Czech Republic Vaclav Klaus and his wife, Livia Klausova, at a hotel here.
Najib and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, arrived at 10.30 am and spent about 30 minutes with Klaus and his wife.
Also present at the meeting was Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Douglas Uggah Embas, who is the minister-in-attendance. Rosmah and Klausova also held a separate meeting at the hotel.
After the meeting, Klaus and his delegation left for another hotel to attend a roundtable discussion organised by the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (ASLI). Klaus and his delegation arrived here yesterday for a five-day state visit to Malaysia.
This is the maiden visit by Klaus as the President of the Czech Republic to Malaysia, at the invitation of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah.
Earlier, Tuanku Abdul Halim and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Hajah Haminah called on Klaus and his wife after the visitors were accorded a state welcome at Parliament Square.
Tonight, Tuanku Abdul Halim and Tuanku Hajah Haminah will host a state banquet for Klaus and his delegation at the Istana Negara in Jalan Duta. -Benama
