By MAIZATUL NAZLINA

KUALA LUMPUR: A contractor of a construction site was bound over for two years on a good behaviour under a RM2,000 bond by a Magistrate's court here for disposing a motorcycle.

Magistrate Mohd Azali Ibrahim made the order against Ashari Kurni, 19, under Section 294 of the Criminal Procedure Code after he pleaded guilty to the charge.

Ashari was accused of disposing a Yahama 125Z motorcycle belonging to one Teoh Tien Chen, 19, at an unnumbered house in Kg Seri Makmur Phase III in Taman Sri Gombak, Selayang at about 12.15am on May 27.

He faced a penalty of seven years jail and a fine under Section 414 of the Penal Code on conviction.

Earlier, counsel Wan A. Fadzil Wan Omar who acted for Ashari said that his client was the eldest of five siblings and was the sole breadwinner to his siblings and his mother who were not working.

He said a fine was not suitable for his client as he did not have fixed income and appealed to the court to bind over Ashari on a good behaviour bond.

PO Asst Supt Zulkifli Osman prosecuted.
