Foreign student confesses to two murders

SHAH ALAM: A foreign student arrested in connection with the death of a real estate agent early this month has confessed he is also involved in the murder of a printing company owner here about two weeks earlier.
Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Mohd Adnan Abdullah said the student claimed that he killed printing company owner Cheng Kok Seng, 31, and later murdered real estate agent Tang Yong Chin.
Cheng, who was due to get married on July 21, was reported missing on June 20 and his decomposed body was found near a stream in Ara Damansara a week later.
It was also here that Tang’s body was found, a week after the father of two went missing on July 5.
Cheng was last seen in Tropicana, Petaling Jaya, at 2pm on June 20.
His family lodged a police report when he failed to return home.
Two days later, his Toyota Avanza was found parked at a condominium in Kota Damansara, and on July 26 police found his decomposed body among some bushes in Ara Damansara.
“DNA samples confirmed the decomposed body was that of Cheng,” said SAC Mohd Adnan, adding that the dead man’s family had since claimed the body.
In Tang’s case, two men in their 20s were arrested after one of them tried to use the businessman’s debit card.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old salesman reported that his home in Taman Gembira in Klang had been broken into and RM3,400 in cash was among several belongings taken by two armed men in the 10pm incident on July 22.
The stolen goods include a plasma TV set, two mobile phones, identification documents and three ATM cards.
Police investigations led to the two suspects at a house in Teluk Gadung and an apartment unit at Bukit Tinggi at around 3.15pm on Monday.
The two are believed to have been involved in a string of armed robberies around Klang over the past three months.
