HULU TERENGGANU: A 24-year-old man was found dead in front of his home with his nose bloodied and injuries all over his body.

Police believe that he had been killed by his friends after an argument.

Ahmad Tarmimi's body was discovered by family members in Kampung Tajin here at about 6.30am on Wednesday.

His sister Noor Riana, 22, said her brother had often wanted to be alone lately.

“He refused to have iftar with other family members. I suspected he might have problems and now he is gone,” she said, adding that she had been looking forward to spending Hari Raya with him.

His body was sent to Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital for a post mortem.

Terengganu deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Hamzah Mohd Jamil said initial investigations revealed that Ahmad was beaten up by three friends some 700m from his home.

“We believe the victim crawled to the front of his house,” he said, adding that Ahmad was believed to have slapped one of the suspects during an argument.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, SAC Hamzah said the argument took place at about 9.45pm on Tuesday.

“After being slapped, the suspect along with two others met the victim again and proceeded to beat him up,” he added.

Three men in their 20s had been detained.
