Take a shot and snap up prizes at exhibition
KUALA LUMPUR: Shutterbugs should head to the Camera and Electronics Expo this weekend where all things camera-related are on show.
Over 80 brands will be promoting their latest products with attractive deals at Viva Expo Hall.
Organised by the Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Photography Society, the exhibition features photography competitions, seminars, lucky draws and a grand draw on the final day of the expo with prizes amounting to over RM50,000.
They paint a thousand words: Visitors admiring some pictures during the launch of the expo at VIVA Home Expo Hall in Kuala Lumpur. Deputy Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Tan Lian Hoe said a “No Fake, No Grey” campaign would run concurrently.
The campaign, she said, was to raise awareness among consumers on how to distinguish imitation products from the original.
“The ministry is looking forward to working further with the society to curb the sale of fake products by enforcing initiatives which are already in place, such as the Trade Descriptions Act 1972,” she said.
She urged consumers to ensure that they only purchased original products.
“In order to curb the sale of imitation products, we need to stop both the supply and demand for them,” she said in her speech which was read by the ministry's enforcement director Roslan Mahayudin.
Also present were Deputy Foreign Minister Kohilan A. Pillay and the society's adviser Datuk Seri Michael Chong.
