Hacker makes Anwar ‘apologise’ to Najib

PUTRAJAYA: The administrators for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s blog have denied that the Opposition leader had posted an apology for defaming Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

In a short posting put up yesterday, the administrators claimed that Anwar’s blog was hacked at about 11.50pm on Friday, when a “special message” was uploaded seeking forgiveness from Najib and his wife Datuk Seri Rosmah Mansor.

“The blog’s administrators confirm that the ‘message’ was false and not from Anwar, and we immediately took down the posting,” they said, adding that a screenshot of the posting had been taken and was circulated.

In the contentious message – which had since made its rounds on some pro-Barisan Nasional blogs – Anwar had allegedly sought forgiveness from Najib and Rosmah, with whom he was “very close”.

The message read that Anwar felt sinful because of the excessive behaviour of some in his team who had defamed Najib and his family in the former’s attempts to secure the prime ministership.

It also quoted Anwar as allegedly admitting that he had no choice but to support Israel due to his inability to distance himself from the Jews and their relentless demands.
