Hisham satisfied no untoward incident occured on Merdeka eve
KUALA LUMPUR: Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein is satisfied that no untoward incident happened during the "Himpunan Janji Bersih" gathering which was held without a permit on Thursday night.
He congratulated the police, Kuala Lumpur City Hall and relevant authorities for maintaining security at the gathering which was held at the Merdeka Square.
"We see that the event, which was aimed at creating chaos, failed, but we have to always be cautious," he told reporters after attending the 55th Merdeka Day celebration at Merdeka Square.
