Nightclub bouncer shot dead in Serdang

SERDANG: A man was gunned down at point blank range outside a pub by at Jalan 5/4, Serdang Perdana here at about 11.30pm on Friday night.

The deceased was having drinks with two friends outside the pub when two men on a motorcycle arrived.

One of the friends, R. Selvam, 38, a dispatch rider, said the deceased was K. Selvam, 27, a bouncer who worked at the pub.

He saw one of the men, wearing a full face helmet, walk up to them coolly and pull out a gun before firing three shots and running back to the motorcycle and they sped off.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Razak Elias said the motive of the incident was likely revenge as the suspect only targeted the deceased and left his two friends alone.

“The deceased was shot once in the head and two in the body. He died on the spot,” he said, not ruling out the possibility they were hired gunmen.

He added that the deceased, who lives in Taman Sri Serdang, had a clean record and police were investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

No arrests have been made so far.

Selvam's body was sent to the Serdang hospital for a postmortem.
