Police on the hunt for six after attacks on road users
KUALA LUMPUR: Police are on the hunt for six men in connection with the attack and robbery of two motorists reported in Selangor and the federal capital.
In the first case, victim Muck Wai Chong was robbed at Jalan Puncak Kiara Utama at 2.13pm on July 27 after leaving a bank near Seri Kembangan.
Relating the incident on his Facebook account, Muck said he was taking his bag out of his car boot when a black Proton Persona stopped next to his vehicle.
“Two men armed with parang got out and charged at me and pushed me to the ground,” he said, adding that one of the robbers tried to take his bag.
Muck resisted and the other suspect attacked him with the parang.
“I blocked the attack with my bag and then let it go. They took my bag, which contained some money, and punctured a tyre before fleeing,” he said.
Muck warned motorists to be careful to avoid becoming a victim like him.
In the second incident, another motorist was nearly robbed as she was getting into her car near Section 4 in Petaling Jaya.
May Heng, who also related her ordeal on her Facebook account, said she was ambushed by four youths on motorcycles on Thursday, about 400m away from her house.
“They were fast. Two of them hit my window repeatedly. I reversed my vehicle and managed to escape.
“My mechanic counted seven hits to the window,” she said.
Heng said she was lucky as her car had security tinting which made it harder to break the glass.
Both cases have been confirmed by the police.
Police are urging anyone with information on the cases to contact the City police at 03-2115 9999 or Selangor police at 03-2052 9999.
