Moderate quake hits Aru Islands, Indonesia
KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale occurred in Aru Islands, Indonesia at 1.58pm on Sunday, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.
The epicentre of the earthquake was 607km Southeast from Sorong, Indonesia and 2037km Southeast from Semporna, Sabah, according to the department in a statement.
No tsunami threat was reported.
