DPM goes walkabout in Jalan Masjid India


KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin spent some time Sunday to buy a 'songkok' (Malay headgear) for Aidilfitri besides mingling with the thousands of visitors and shoppers around Jalan Majid India, here.

He arrived at about 11.45am and visited several shops selling dresses and he was greeted by members of the public while some took the opportunity to take photographs with the Deputy Prime Minister.

Muhyiddin later tried a few songkok before buying two of them at Kedai Patimah (Patimah), and spent about 15 minutes there before leaving.

According to shop proprietor, Rusdi Ratham, 50, the Deputy Prime Minister bought two black-coloured songkok for himself and placed an order for a maroon and a green songkok for his sons. - Bernama
