BENTONG: A total of 30 Chinese government-aided primary and secondary schools in Pahang received financial aid amounting to RM5.51mil.

The schools comprising 24 primary and six secondary, received the allocation which was part of the RM100mil approved by the Government under last year's budget.

Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong said another missionary school SMJK Katholik, Bentong would be receiving RM1.742mil.

Dr Wee said the total allocation for all the 31 schools in Pahang was RM7.25mil.

“We would continue with our struggles to look after the people's welfare and Chinese education,” he said after presenting cheques to the respective schools accompanied by MCA deputy president and Pahang MCA chief Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai at SJKC Khai Mun Pagi here yesterday.
