STEAMY bedroom scenes between starlet Nora Danish and local actor Rusdi Ramli in the soon-to-be-released movie Mencari Cinta is expected to court much controversy.

Metro Ahad reported that some scenes from the movie by first-time director Shirin Khuzaimi might cause people to label it as pornographic.

The film is due for release in December.

Shirin, however, denied that Mencari Cinta was an X-rated film.

“It is a love story depicting how a married couple should behave in the bedroom based on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.

“What I have depicted in the film is a love between a husband and his wife,” she said.

She said people tended to presume that the issue was too sexually explicit, but believed that it had to be followed through as was in the teachings.

“I did not deliberately raise controversy merely to attract people to watch the film,” she added.

> Sinar Harian reported that a police officer had been arrested for committing khalwat (close proximity) with the wife of his colleague in Padang Besar, Perlis.

The officer also tested positive for drugs.

The 30-year-old inspector was caught in suspicious circumstances with the woman, believed to be his 38-year-old lover, at her home at a housing area here at 3am on Friday.

The woman tested negative for drugs.

Perlis police chief SAC Zull Aznam Haron said the officer, who was attached to the Padang Besar District Police's administrative division, had been remanded.
