Snatch thief caught, beaten
KUALA LUMPUR: A man who snatched a gold chain was caught by his victim and several passers-by after a short chase.
He was then beaten up in the busy Chow Kit area here.
The man, in his 30s and believed to be a drug addict, had snatched a chain from a woman as she was getting out of a lift at Wisma Hock Ann in Jalan Haji Hussein around noon yesterday.
Eyewitness Kamal Ngah, 53, said the victim and several men from a nearby apartment block then chased the suspect and cornered him near a mosque.
“They beat him up before handing him over to policemen,” he said.
