KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia is launching its latest series of stamps in conjunction with Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee.
The stamps will be launched tomorrow, in conjunction with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's royal visit from Sept 13 to 15.
The stamps feature two designs, both of which are bordered with silver ink.
One features a “stamp on stamp” design, with an older stamp released on June 2, 1953 to commemorate Queen Elizabeth's coronation in the centre.
Commemorative items: Pos Malaysia clerk Norsharyda Zulkarnain, 25, displaying the new stamps that will be launched tomorrow. The other features a photograph of Prince William and Kate Middleton to commemorate their visit.
“The stamps have already been approved by Buckingham Palace and a set will be shown to the Queen as well,” said Pos Malaysia head of stamp and philately Yasmin Ramli.
She said the stamps cost RM1.50 each.
Full sheets of ten stamps each can be purchased for RM15 at all Pos Malaysia outlets while stocks last.
Folders and first-day covers without stamps are sold at RM5.50 and 50 sen each, respectively.
Two first-day cover designs will be available for sale only on the day of the launch the first at RM3.50 featuring the two stamps, while the other, with a miniature sheet of stamps, at RM2.50 each.
Individual miniature sheets will also be available for sale at RM5 each.
“The background of the miniature sheet features our new Istana Negara which the royal couple will be visiting,'' said Yasmin.
She added that a full set with all of the above could be purchased at selected outlets as well as online at www.postme.com.my for RM49.50 each.
