Body of Malaysian student killed in Jordan crash to arrive Thursday


KUALA LUMPUR: The body of a Malaysian student, who was killed in a road crash in Jordan on Monday, is scheduled to arrive here tomorrow.

In a statement Wednesday, the Foreign Ministry said the Malaysian ambassador in Amman was making arrangements pertaining to the body of 22-year-old Saiful Asraf Saifuddin.

It said the victim was from Bandar Tasik Kesuma, Beranang in Selangor, adding that his parents and family members were informed of the accident.

Saiful Asraf, a second-year student in Syariah at the Mu'tah University in Jordan, was killed in the crash when fetching his three coursemates who had arrived at an airport after returning from a holiday in Malaysia.

The accident occurred when the rental car they were in, skidded at a highway between Karak and Aqaba.

The coursemates, Mohd Hanafi Khalis Zainal Abidin, Nadhirah Husna Ahmad and Nur Syahirah Saipolbahari, sustained minor injuries. - Bernama
