PM: Sacrifices will lead to success

BY ONG HAN SEAN

PEKAN: A party that wants to be successful must endure a meaningful struggle, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He said such a struggle must be one loved and blessed by Allah.

"So what must we do to the point that Allah will love our struggle? If we fight according to His path and in an organised manner, then Allah will surely give His blessings," said Najib at the Pekan Umno delegates meeting on Saturday.

The Umno president urged party members to put aside their self-interest and petty issues in order to make the party sucessful.

"As long as we are willing to sacrifice and act like a sturdy building, we will see success in the general election," said Najib.

He also said Umno had achieved a lot in its 55 years at the helm but the opposition still denied the party's success.

"Recently, an opposition leader came to Pekan and said he did not see any development. I wonder where his eyes are?" he asked.

Najib, who is also Pekan MP, listed a string of projects in his constituency such as the building of Universiti Malaysia Pahang, a four-star hotel and the upgrading of the Kuantan-Pekan highway.

"Who says there is no development? Only the blind in heart and vision cannot see it. The best medicine is to teach them in the coming elections," he said.
