Many mouthwatering offers on final day of motor carnival
KUALA LUMPUR: Today is the last day of The Star Motor Carnival 2012 and the last chance to check out over 50 cars from a dozen automotive brands that can be seen, test-driven and bought.
Banks, including Public Bank, AffinBank, Kuwait Finance House and Citibank, have also set up booths at the carnival at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil here.
The banks offer interest rates from as low as 2.22% per annum to over 3.2% depending on car model, loan amount and tenure. Public Bank is offering 2.22% for the Honda Jazz, while AffinBank is giving from 2.28% to 3.25% for car loans.
AffinBank is also giving away a free gift for each hire-puchase application and is offering life insurance coverage at a special price.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Finance House quoted a 2.38% rate on the Automobile Ijarah-i, a Syariah-based car financing product.
Visitors thronged the carnival yesterday with the cloudy weather making the experience more comfortable. Among the exhibitors were iForces which is selling the IKey SM200, a newly developed OEM car alarm system that works in tandem with your smartphone.
The Ikey app works with Google Maps to arm or disarm the alarm, trigger an alert or cut off the engine power remotely.
The alarm system vendor is offering a 23% discount on the product and a further RM500 discount for on-the-spot purchases.
ABT Malaysia, an aftermarket tuner for Volkswagen cars and Audi, is offering 15% off on bodykits and rims for the German-made products. It is also sharing booth space with GZOX auto detailer and Llumar tinting, which are giving a 30% discount on their respective products.
Bosch is selling Bosch products from as low as RM7 for oil filters and RM20 for windscreen wipers.
JT NGV Holding is promoting its NGV conversion kit as the “best alternative to petrol” with savings in fuel of up to 75%.
The various car brands continued to engage with the public with Honda giving away tumblers, mouse pads and keychains in a quiz.
Petronas, the main sponsor of the carnival, is offering a foldable car sunshade for correct answers to questions on oil-related matters.
Nissan is a offering a Teana miniature car and Nismo/Impul merchandise to visitors who can guess the number of ping pong balls in a “Guess and Win” contest.
Classic, drifting and modified cars are on display, as well as In Car Entertainment contest, fire-eating demonstrations, stage performances and over RM200,000 in prizes and giveaways are in store for visitors.
