KUANTAN: Three policemen were severely injured while transporting a convict when they crashed into a parked lorry at Jalan Kuantan near Taman Dato Rashid, here Tuesday.
The policemen were Constable Filyx Lansaver Jinol, 25, who was driving and Corporals Zulhairi Ramli, 24 and Abd Rashid Ahmad, 51.
They have been warded at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital.

Kuantan police chief, ACP Mohd Jasmani Yusuff said the police car had been transporting the convict from the Kuala Berang police headquarters to the Penor Prison about 11.45 am, after he was sentenced to prison under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
"The convict, Roslan Ismail, 32, became aggressive and started to grapple with the policemen when they reached the spot. He also kicked the driver who then lost control of the car, which skidded and crashed into a parked lorry with a flat tire.
"He fled into the nearby jungle with his hands still cuffed," he said.
Mohd Jasmani added that the lorry driver, Mohd Zamri Abdul Kadir, 22, who was changing the flat tire at the time, was also injured on his thigh in the accident.
"We have set up a special team and road blocks along the borders of the Kemaman, Maran, Temerloh and Pekan districts.
"The convict, from Terengganu, was sentenced to eight years in jail and 10 strokes of the cane by the Kuala Terengganu Sessions Court, effective June 28," he said.
Mohd Jasmani appealed to the public to contact the nearest police station or 09-5142999 if they have any information on the man. - Bernama
