Police nab four men over clash which left woman rubber tapper dead


SUNGAI PETANI: The police have detained four men in connection with the killing of a rubber tapper and three injured in Ladang Bukit Lembu, Gurun.

The suspects were picked up Tuesday, in the vicinity of the scene where K. Kalyani, 57, was shot dead about 11pm Monday.

Kuala Muda police acting chief Supt Ong Aik Chang said the police were in the midst of tracking down more suspects including the "prime" suspect.

In the incident, Kalyani died of a gunshot wound while her son, T. Kathiraven, 23, was injured after he was hacked during a clash involving a group of men near their house.

Kathiraven and two others have been warded at the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital. - Bernama
