Pakatan gives EC ultimatum on local council polls in Penang
GEORGE TOWN: The Pakatan Rakyat government is giving the Election Commission (EC) one month to approve holding local council elections in the state.
Penang state executive councillor Chow Kon Yeow said the EC has been informed that the Pakatan Rakyat government had already passed the Local Council Elections Enactment 2012.
"The EC has acknowledged that it will take the matter into consideration and will reply with a decision.
"We will go to court, if the decision is no," he said.
