PM launches books on the meaning of 1Malaysia
PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak launched three books that discussed in depth the 1Malaysia concept from various perspectives.
The three books were 'Menjana Negara Sejahtera dan Bahagia Menjelang 2020' authored by Datuk Sahlan Ismail; 'Kreativiti dan Inovasi Penjanaan Peradaban Gemilang' written by Mohd Yusof Othman, and 'Budaya Ilmu dan Gagasan 1Malaysia' by Prof Wan Mohd Nor Wan Daud.
Najib said after the 1Malaysia Concept was mooted by him about three years ago, the subsequent phase was to consolidate all the ideas to arrive at a conclusion on the meaning, interpretation, fundamentals, as well as principles upheld by the concept.
He described the contributions by the academicians through their writings as an effort to give an interpretation to the 1Malaysia Concept in a more intellectual and in-depth manner.
"Through such efforts, the concept would be more easily appreciated, besides avoiding the emergence of interpretations that contradict the objectives of the development of the concept," he said at the launching of the books on Level Three, of the Prime Minister's Office.
Among the articles contained in the books were '1Malaysia Concept From the Perspective of Islam' by Datuk Dr Ismail Ibrahim, 'Perpaduan Teras Pembinaan Sebuah Negara Maju' by Prof Madya Mohd Ridhuan Tee Abdulah, and '1Malaysia Konsep Wasatiyah dan Keadilan Sosial' by Datuk Seri Dr Abdullah Mohd Zain.
Others contributing their works in the books were Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim who wrote an article titled 'Nilai-nilai Murni Dalam Gagasan 1Malaysia', and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar who wrote an article on 'Keamanan dan Keselamatan Kearah Pembentukan Negara Maju'. - Bernama
