A-G gets probe papers on trampling of PM's picture


KUALA LUMPUR: Investigation papers on the trampling of pictures of national leaders and the waving of the Sang Saka flag on the eve (Aug 30) of the 55th Independence Day celebration have been submitted to the Attorney-General.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Tun Hussein said the police had completed their investigation.

"We have submitted to the Attorney-General to scrutinise the report and take appropriate action," he told reporters after attending an Umno supreme council meeting here Thursday.

To date, seven individuals have given their statements to the police on the waving of the Sang Saka flag, trampling and showing the buttocks to pictures of national leaders in public, during the eve of Merdeka Day.

More that 100 police reports were made on the action of the participants of the Janji Bersih gathering who stepped on pictures of national leaders and insulted the Malaysian flag at the Dataran Merdeka. - Bernama
