PM: Umno general assembly can be postponed
KUALA LUMPUR: The Umno general assembly has been fixed from Nov 27 to Dec 1 but Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak maintained this does not necessarily mean the general election has been pushed to next year.
The Umno president said the party's general assembly could be postponed if the general election was called at around the same time.
“We can just postpone or we can go on with it as planned,” he said after chairing the Umno supreme council meeting.
He added that the party elections would not be held this year but would take place after the general election.
