KUALA LUMPUR: There will be temporary night closures of lanes on two roads in the Bukit Bintang area from Sept 23 to 27 to facilitate construction of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project.

The first is along Jalan Bukit Bintang where two lanes will be closed for a distance of 130m between the Jalan Bukit Bintang-Jalan Sultan Ismail junction and Jalan Bukit Bintang-Cangkat Bukit Bintang junction.

The lane closure will take place between 11pm on Sept 23 and 5am on Sept 24, and between 11pm on Sept 24 and 5am on Sept 25, according to a statement from MRT Corporation Sdn Bhd Thursday.

The second is on Jalan Sultan Ismail, where one lane for traffic heading towards Hotel Istana in front of Sungei Wang Shopping Centre and the side of Yayasan Selangor, and one lane for traffic heading towards KLCC in front of Lot 10 and Park Royal Hotel, will be closed.

Covering a distance of 80m, the affected lanes will close from 11pm on Sept 25 to 5am on Sept 26, and between 11pm on Sept 26 and 5am on Sept 27.

The statement said the closures were to enable traffic light recabling work to be carried out. - Bernama
