Husni: New approaches in Budget 2013 to strengthen economy

ALOR SETAR: Budget 2013 will incorporate several new approaches in efforts to strengthen the economy and ensure the welfare of the people, Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah said Friday.

However, he declined to elaborate, but said the Government would continue to maintain the well-being of the people.

"We are in the final stages of fine-tuning (the budget). We will introduce new approaches for the sake of the people's welfare," he told reporters after opening the Kuala Kedah Umno Division delegates meeting near here.

He also approved RM100,000 for the division to make preparations for the next general election.

"We have to work hard to recapture the states now in Opposition hands," he said, adding that the federal government wanted to make Malaysia a high-income nation.

"As such, we want all the states to move forward together. We do not want any state to lag behind," he said. - Bernama
