NUSAJAYA: Iskandar Malaysia is progressing well with RM95.45bil worth of investments pumped into the region since its inception six years ago, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Forty percent of the investment, he said, was from foreign investors in tourism projects, manufacturing and property development.

“There is still much to be done for Iskandar Malaysia to achieve its full potential,” Najib said at the official opening of Legoland Malaysia here last night. “We are working hand-in-hand with the Johor government, the private and public sectors and most importantly, the people of Johor to secure further growth.”

The opening was graced by Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, accompanied by his royal consort Raja Zarith Sofiah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah.

Najib said the decision to house Asia's first Legoland here was paying off with the strength of Lego's brand attracting domestic and foreign tourists to Johor.
