Reports By MAZWIN NIK ANIS, MARTIN CARVALHO, RAHIMY RAHIM and LOSHANA K. SHAGAR

THE Finance Ministry has issued a circular on how to be prudent in spending, including on asset purchases and on holding official programmes, to keep public debt from exceeding its national target ceiling.

Deputy Minister Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai said the Government regularly reviewed existing allocations so that it would not overlap with activities by the state government.

“We also introduced the Value Management under the 10th Malaysia Plan as a management tool for government projects,” he told Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (PKR-Permatang Pauh) during Question Time.
