PPUKM Prof and staff were incredible

I WAS admitted to the psychiatric ward of Pusat Perubatan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (PPUKM) on Aug 29 as I was suffering from chronic major depression. I was discharged on Sept 4.

I wish to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to Prof Maniam and his team of doctors, namely Dr Idayu and Dr Devi.

Prof Maniam and his team were polite in discharging their duties. After my check-up and a discussion with me, he instructed a blood test to be done.

I was diagnosed with additional illness, that is diabetes and high cholesterol.

Thanks to Prof Maniam for his brilliant and quick critical thinking, I was put on two additional medications.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the group of nurses who not only treated the patients as normal human beings, but also treated us with respect and politeness and were very helpful.

It is a very stressful too dealing with a handful of patients with serious mental illnesses who would perform all kinds of antics.

The nurses dealt with them with care and patience.

There were nurses Rokiah, Norma, Ainani, Aini and many others whose names I cannot recall.

They made my stay enjoyable and I made a few friends too.

Syabas! to the nurses in the male psychiatric ward.
