KAJANG: A mob of armed men stormed into a showroom in Bandar Sungai Long, near here, and fled with an undisclosed sum of money and five Honda cars worth over RM500,000.

The group of about 15 men, armed with parang and axes, overpowered two unarmed security guards and tied them up before making their getaway in the incident which occurred between 2am and 3am yesterday.

The guards freed themselves and called the police at about 7pm, said Kajang Deputy OCPD Supt Azman Ayob.

“The robbers spent more than three hours ransacking the premises and breaking into the showroom office to steal the money,” he said at the scene.

They then drove off in the cars three Honda Accords, a Honda CRV and a Honda Civic all without registered number plates.

Supt Azman said the police would go through the CCTV footage to assist in investigations.

The showroom started operations last year.
