PETALING JAYA: Universiti Malaya (UM) will hold a new election on Friday for two seats on its Students Representative Council.

When the university's campus polls were held on Tuesday, two of the overall 43 seats resulted in a draw between contesting candidates.

The two seats are for the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology.

In a notice posted on its website on Thursday, UM's campus polls committee said voting will take place at the respective faculties from 8.30am to 12.30pm.

"All campaigning activities are forbidden, and the results will be announced by the vice-chancellor via UM's website," said the committee.
