Five witnesses helping police in shooting of two cops

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded the statements of five people who were at the scene of the shooting of two policemen at a traffic junction in Jalan Kuchai Lama at 6.45pm on Wednesday.

City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Ku Chin Wah said a car belonging to one of the five was shot at during the incident.

Four suspects were said to have fled on foot after abandoning their black Proton Saga after the shooting.

In the shootout, police fired three shots at the suspects' car, hitting the windows and petrol tank.

During the incident, Kpl Nor Azlan Abu Bakar, 42 and Kpl R. Subramaniam, 52 were shot when they stopped the suspects' car checks.
