Two Malaysian students killed in road accident in Russia

VLADIVOSTOK: Two Malaysian students were killed and five others injured in a road accident in Russia late Sunday, according to Malaysian ambassador to Russia Datuk Zainol Abidin Omar.

He identified the students as Hanisah Muhd Shah, a Mara student from Dungun, Terengganu, and Adzreen Binyati, a Public Service Department student from Putrajaya.

The two girls, both fifth-year students at the Nishny Novgorod State Medical Academy, were travelling in a van with five other female university mates from the Moscow airport to Vladirskaya when the accident occurred, he said.

He said the students had just returned from Malaysia after the Aidilfitri break to start the new semester.

Zainol Abidin said Hanisah was killed on the spot while Adzreen died on the way to hospital.
